Menlo Park Legends Collegiate Summer Team: Ready for Summer 2023!
Baseball fans, buckle up! The Menlo Park Legends collegiate summer team is back and ready to hit it out of the park in the 2023 summer season. Founded in 2009 by former UCSB catcher and highly regarded baseball innovator , David Klein, the Legends have come a long way from their early days at Menlo-Atherton High School. Joining the prestigious California Collegiate League in 2012, the Legends have built a legacy of greatness that continues to thrive today.
The Legends are preparing for an electrifying 42-game regular season in the Bay Area Collegiate Summer League (BACL). Adding to the excitement, 25% of their summer schedule will feature intense matchups against California Collegiate League opponents, including series against formidable foes like the Sonoma Stompers, San Luis Obispo Blues, Healdsburg Prunepackers, and Lincoln Potters. Fans can also anticipate an exhilarating journey to Humboldt, where the Legends will clash with the Humboldt Crabs.
These California Collegiate League team games will serve as a significant challenge for the Legends, pushing them to prove their prowess on the field. Building on their success from the 2022 season, when they made the playoffs in their first year back after a 5-year hiatus, the Menlo Park Legends are now aiming to compete atop the BACL standings.
The home games will be played at the stunning Cañada College baseball field facility in Redwood City, providing fans with the perfect setting to cheer on their favorite team. With Head Coach Nick White returning for his second year, the team is ready to showcase their skills and dedication on the field.
From 2009 to 2016, the Legends had players drafted eight years in a row, boasting a total of 50 players who went on to play pro ball. This impressive group includes two Olympians (Alon Leichman, DJ Sharabi) and three Major Leaguers (Tyler Ivy, Zac Grotz, Mark Mathias). With such a rich history and a bright future ahead, the Menlo Park Legends are eager to write the next chapter in their storied legacy.
