Now that the team is back in the bay, there is no stopping their winning streak.

After dominating the day before, the Legends continue to win with a 4-1 victory against the West Coast Kings, July 8.

Although neither team had a big offensive burst, the Legends took advantage of errors and wild pitches made by their opponents to score their four runs.

The Legends kept up a solid pitching performances with Erik Amundson commanding the strike zone for four innings.

“Erik had his best stuff of the year this game,” general manager David Klein said. “Everything was firm, down the zone, and strikes so I thought that was a really big step forward for him.”

Giving up just two hits to the Kings, Amundson led the way with no run ball, punching out four batters during his time on the hill. Following Amundson, three Legends pitchers combined for five innings, only giving up a solo home run while striking out three Kings batters.

The Legends’ big hitters did not come out swinging as expected from the coaching staff. Instead, the team was able to score from sloppy defense by the Kings. Ryan Rosa would score two runs for his team off a passed ball in the third followed by an error later in the seventh.

Even though this was the Legends’ third straight win, they expect to fine tune their batting for a stronger offensive performance in their later games at home.

Traveling to Palo Alto High School, the Legends will face the Pacific Union Financial Capitalists for a three-game weekend series, July 10 to 12.
