To start off the first couple weeks of the season, The Legacy and Coach White have come out strong despite a tough start to the season. Although their record is 1-6, the team has shown up in every aspect of the game.

Collectively the players have racked up 28 stolen bases, nine coming from Dom Najar who is

also standing out defensively.

The Legacy won big against their first CCL team, the Sonoma Stompers, on Saturday June 1st

15-4. Jesus Menguia looked strong on the mound, with eight strikeouts over five innings. The

team managed to pile up 17 hits, multiple coming from Tyler Wong, Cooper Winton, Nick

Thompson and Denelle Daniels.

The players are continuing to battle in each game, building a solid outfield and showing

aggression at the plate and around the bases. Coach White has said that “I’m really excited

about the players being here for the summer and we’re going to continue building the roster as

our remaining players show up.”

Catcher Jacob Froess earned the team’s first Player of the Week recognition. Froess is a returner for the Legacy from CSU East Bay and averaged .636 last week with 4 runs scored and 3 RBI’s.

The team is now gearing up to play the West Coast Kings at home Friday night then hitting the road to compete against the Healdsburg Prune Packers this weekend.
